2 008 has
certainly been the year for disasters in Rob
G's life. First came the death of his wife to
cancer in January, causing his set-to-launch music career to be
put on hold, followed this past weekend by the strike of Hurricane
Ike. The storm left him, his son and almost 2 million like them
without power and many, without water.
Rob G is used to bouncing back from loss and turning lemons into
lemonade and has not only shot the video to his hit single "For
The Hood" in the past month but also commemorated the loss
of his wife with a celebrity softball game with proceeds going
to The Texas Children's Hospital. Rob G is now set to drop his
debut album, The Inauguration, on October 21st, on Latium Records/Universal
Republic following a hugely successful mixtape campaign over the
past year or so; something he calls his 'campaign into the streets',
with nothing short of 6 tapes - the perfect set-up to The Inauguration
- and has numerous songs with Houston's finest (Trae, Slim Thug,
Lil Keke, Paul Wall) showing clearly that his whole city is indeed
behind him.
It is finally Rob G's time, and he is more than ready. Neither
rain, nor sleet nor Hurricane Ike is going to stop him from taking
his rightful spot as both a great Latin artist and an unforgettable
rapper. Be sure to check out the video using the above link and
